Rigby artist and engraver, Geoffrey Lignon has tried to purvey the African animal in its true form by studying numerous photos to understand how its skin wrinkled and eyes glistened before setting about drawing the animal, which has taken 45 hours to complete.

The artist wanted to attract attention to the extreme beauty of the rhino to convey the precarious nature of their existence.

Geoffrey’s technique for creating this piece is unique, using a black board and a white gel pen, with three black pencils to draw the animal, saying it wasn’t a technique he had seen before, but it provided striking results.

A1-sized, each piece is hand-signed and numbered by the artist, before being relief stamped with the Rigby logo.

The original comes framed in a luxurious navy wood and resin frame, complimented by enhancing gold lines on the inner and outer edges of the frame.
