‘Facing Down Fear’ By John Sharp

‘Facing Down Fear’ touches briefly on John Sharp’s youth and how he finally found and achieved his dream. The book takes readers on a journey from the Orange Free State to Cape Town in South Africa, to Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and East Africa. It also details his experiences in Zambia, Mozambique, Namibia and Botswana before finally settling back in Zimbabwe. These are campfire tales of a few of John’s adventures along the way and the people who have travelled with him. The memoirs share what John learned and that facing down fear – of danger, of pain, of failure, of loss – can lead to a rich and rewarding life. It is also a story of John’s love for Africa, an Africa he hopes will be preserved for future generations.
