London gunmaker John Rigby & Co. is offering fans a chance to win a rare Rigby rifle and raise funds for the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) at the same time. Tickets for this unique raffle will be available from Rigby’s stand at The Game Fair, which will be held at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire, from 23 to 25 July.
The .416 Rigby ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ rifle is number one in a limited run of only 10. These special editions were built during and inspired by the courage and determination required under the UK’s first Covid-19 lockdown in spring 2020, when the Rigby team isolated together at the firm’s London factory. Built on a Mauser M98 action, the single square bridge rifle features the initials of the team involved plus exclusive engraving, a 24-inch plasma nitride finished barrel, three position flag safety, and a 14 ½-inch, Best oil finished, deluxe Turkish walnut stock with a leather-covered butt pad and comes with a canvas case and accessories.
Only 500 tickets will be available, to be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at The Game Fair with a minimum suggested contribution of £20 per ticket. All proceeds of the sale will be given to the NHS, meaning that the donation will be at least £10,000. The draw is open to over 18s only.
Marc Newton, Rigby’s MD, commented: “This rifle represents the determination and dedication that get us all through tough times. The NHS has been a shining example of this throughout the pandemic and we’re proud to be able to give something back to them.”
