Australian big game hunter and wilderness adventurer, Brian ‘Wato’ Watson has released a new autobiography, re-telling stories of his early hunting adventures in wild Africa and other wilderness places right up to present day.

Available to purchase from the Rigby Shikar Store, in reading Wato’s memories you will uncover the depth of his shooting and hunting experiences, having led such a remarkable life. His book documents with characteristic wit, warmth and attention to detail, great hunting yarns told by a true original who has lived a colourful life.

Honoured to be asked to write a foreword for the book, Rigby’s managing director, Marc Newton recalls how Wato was one of the first to place his trust in Rigby, by placing an order for a .416 while in his early career working for Paul Roberts, in a long-standing affection for Rigby that continues to this day.

Marc added: “I shall be forever appreciative of Wato’s early belief in us and glad of his long-standing affection for Rigby, our rifles and history. In his book, friends are recalled with merciless Aussie character assassination, which you only get away with when you lace it with the obvious affection he holds for the hapless fellow adventurers he has encountered over the years.”

Pour yourself a dram of Rigby’s single malt, light a cigar, pull up a comfortable chair and get ready to entertain yourself with a couple of stories from a colourful life every evening this month. If you are a hunter with a love of the outdoors and an appreciation of fellowship forged in shared adventure, you will enjoy these smoothly-recounted reflections, by a true raconteur, of his life with guns, dogs, creatures and mishaps.
